Who this policy covers
This policy applies to EP Info as an Australian editorial publisher operating from Adelaide, South Australia, and to all pages on the enpagailleveuxtu.com domain. It applies to information you provide to us by email or through any interaction with the site, and to information collected automatically by standard web infrastructure when you visit.
What we collect
EP Info collects very little personal information because the site is primarily read-only editorial content. There are no accounts to create, no newsletter signup, no comment system and no e-commerce functions. The categories of personal information we may hold are:
- Email correspondence. If you email [email protected], we hold your name, email address and the content of your message.
- Server access logs. Our web host records standard technical information — IP address, browser user agent, timestamp, page requested, referring URL — for security and operational purposes.
- Analytics data. Aggregate, non-identifying visitor statistics may be collected for editorial planning purposes.
How we use it
Email correspondence is used solely to respond to your enquiry and to maintain an audit trail for editorial corrections. Server logs are used for security monitoring and incident investigation. Aggregate analytics are used to prioritise editorial work — for example, identifying which topics readers arrive at most often — and are not tied to individual visitors.
We do not use personal information for marketing, we do not add correspondents to any mailing list, and we do not sell or share information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Ever.
Cookies
The site uses only strictly necessary cookies. See the cookie policy for the full picture. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time; the site will continue to work without them.
Third-party services
EP Info uses a small number of third-party services to operate. Our web host handles server operations. A privacy-focused analytics provider collects aggregate visitor statistics. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and by our data processing arrangements with them. Personal information is not sold to any third party.
Retention
Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to resolve the underlying matter and for a reasonable period afterward for audit purposes — typically two years. Server logs are rotated on a rolling window of no more than 90 days for operational logs. Aggregate analytics data is retained indefinitely at the aggregate level, without any individual identifier.
Your rights under Australian law
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you and to request corrections. You may also request that we delete your personal information where we no longer need it. Requests are handled at the email address above and are usually resolved within thirty days.
If you are unhappy with our handling of your personal information, you may complain to us directly. If the complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner accepts privacy complaints from Australian residents.
Security
Personal information is stored on infrastructure operated by our web host and by our email provider. Both use industry-standard security controls including encrypted transport, access controls and infrastructure monitoring. No system is entirely secure, but the surface area of personal information EP Info holds is deliberately small precisely because we prefer to reduce risk at the collection stage rather than mitigate it at the storage stage.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy the "effective" date at the top of the page will change. Substantive changes will be flagged in the editorial change log we maintain internally. This policy is under review at least annually.
Privacy contact
For any privacy-related enquiry, email [email protected] with "Privacy" in the subject line. Postal enquiries can be sent to EP Info, Suite 14, 217 Flinders Street, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia.
